Christopher Thomas, born in 1961 and a graduate of the Bavarian State Institute for Photography, has received a number of international awards as art and commercial photographer. His photo reportages have been published in magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, Geo, Stern, and Merian. The current series focuses on the tragicomedy of the human existence. We all play a role in this performance, sometimes impressively, sometimes clumsily – depending on talent, condition, energy or passion. Some are lucky in the distribution of roles, others less so. Some who were initially assigned supporting roles shine brightly, becoming stars, icons. Others suffer a terrible fate and fall deeply. The works presented at the Leica Gallery in Munich are a selection from the corresponding book, which addresses the various human manifestations that the Munich photographer has encountered both professionally and privately over the past 30 years. This series of works is Christopher Thomas` most personal work to date, and its premiere will take place alongside the book launch at the Leica Gallery.
